Guide Bios

These tours are organized as a joint effort of Luis Rosenkjer with Atlanta Paragliding Enterprises and Todd Weigand with Wallowa Paragliding. They have an incredible amount of experience leading tours to Iquique, and both are fluent in Spanish. This, combined with their winning personalities and dashing good looks make them incredibly qualified, experienced guides if you're looking to experience the world-famous flying in Iquique.

Luis Rosenkjer

Luis is the founder of Atlanta Paragliding Enterprises, and has been flying paragliders for over 20 years with no injuries. He has been a paragliding instructor for over 17 years, having instructed over 400 students and conducted over 600 tandem flights. He has been leading tours to Iquique for over six years, and his longest flight in Iquique to date is 107 miles. He is an Argentinean native, has been the Argentinian Paragliding champion several times, and is the current open distance Argentinian record holder. He placed 4th at the Rat Race in 2005, 5th at the US Nationals in 2005, and won the Tater Hill Open in 2006 and 2007, along with several other records. He is certified as a USHPA Advanced Instructor, a Tandem Instructor, Instructor Program Administrator, Surface Tow Administrator, and Tandem Administrator.

Todd Weigand

Todd is the creator of Wallowa Paragliding and has over 11 years of paragiding experience, including six years of working as a tandem pilot and local guide in Iquique. He won the Iquique Open in 2005, as well as the La Serena Chile Acro Comp. He is the current Chilean Co-Open Distance Record Holder of 120 miles. He is a certified USHPA instructor, Tandem Instructor, and Tow Technician.
